Just because it’s a holiday Monday doesn’t mean you can live without coffee. So if a Starbucks run is part of your morning routine, you may be wondering whether you can still grab that iced brown sugar oat milk espresso or latte just like you usually do, even though it’s Memorial Day.
While Memorial Day is a somber holiday, one where Americans honor military service members who died serving their country, for millions of Americans it’s also a day marked by family get-togethers.
If you’re heading out to gather all the groceries and supplies you need for that BBQ, you might be thinking about hitting Starbucks first.

Starbucks is open on Memorial Day
Starbucks does not enforce a company-wide holiday schedule, meaning individual stores set their own hours based on staffing, location, and demand.
Some stores will even open at their usual time at 4:30 AM, and close as late as 11:00 PM.

So the short answer is yes, most Starbucks locations are open for normal operating hours on Memorial Day. Customers planning a Monday morning coffee run should check ahead using the Starbucks app or online store locator to confirm local hours and avoid surprises.
Memorial Day is not one of Starbucks’ major closure holidays, unlike Thanksgiving or Christmas Day, when more widespread closures or reduced hours are common.
Starbucks’ beat Q2 sales estimates
Memorial Day 2026 comes just after the company’s Q2 2026 earnings report. The company is still in the early phase of its multi-year “Back to Starbucks” turnaround strategy under CEO Brian Niccol, but the company is making meaningful strides.
The shine is back on Starbucks around the world,” Niccol said during the April 28 earnings call.
Niccol has continued to focus on customer experience, including improving service speed. The company has invested roughly $500 million into staffing, labor hours, and store improvements to support the turnaround, Reuters reported in April.
Recent earnings show progress, including a 6.2% increase in global comparable sales growth and improving transaction trends, according to the company’s April earnings report:
- Quarterly revenue of about $9.5 billion, reflecting continued growth.
- Operating income of approximately $828 million (up from $601 million a year ago).
- About 80% of stores are hitting Niccol’s “4-4-12” service targets – four minutes in the café, four in the drive-through, and under 12 minutes for mobile pickup.
- Adjusted earnings per share of 50 cents beat analysts’ estimates of 43 cents.
